Ernie's Endorsement of the Week: Kisses!

He's not so keen on kissing people (who has time for such demanding parents?) but he'll always give one up for Eeyore if he asks in a pathetic Eeyore voice. What a lucky donkey.

Happy Birthday Cousin Ashlee!

What a busy birthday week we've had! We didn't get ahold of cousin Ashlee to wish her happy birthday over the phone, but we know she's an Ernventure reader and hope she knows we were thinking of her on her birthday! Here's some of our favorite pics from the past 11 months of Cousin Ashlee!

Happy Birthday Grandpa Denie!

Ernie had a great weekend with the Halls! Grandpa Denie had a modest birthday celebration and Uncle Chris and Aunt Amy were able to come into town. Ernie's got a major crush on Amy now.

Here's some of our favorite moments with Grandpa Denie from the last 11 months.

It's happening, people.

Ernie is totally growing up. In fact, our Erndorsements are so far behind because he's so hard to keep up with! First the clapping then the crawling then the holding-my-OWN-bottle-THANKYOU. It just all happened in a few weeks. This week when Ernie visited Mom at work he found the staircase and just climbed right up! He's tried for a while at home, but our steps are higher and he's had some trouble. Not so with these stairs. Scary.
And yesterday Jeremy found him standing in the crib after a nap. This morning he was more vocal waiting for us to come get him, and when we came in there he was standing again! He was really excited for us to see, and anxious to try it again when we unzipped him from his sleep sack, but his little legs were too sore from standing so long. Hopefully learning to get down isn't too far behind learning to get up.

Happy Birthday Aunt Laura!

And happy Valentine's Day to all you Ernventurers!

Here's some love for Aunt Laura on her birthday. Have a wonderful day!

Snortmonster!

We've been trying to get a video of Ernie's heavy snort-breathing for months. Literally, since he was four months old. This is a special form of communication he and Jeremy share. I don't understand it, but it makes them both very happy. But you can't hear it very well :(

Caught between a crawl and a poop.

The title says it all.

Oh, and this picture.

Ernie rocks the hats

We got two new hand-knitted hats for Ernie from a member of our parents group that all had babies in March. Anne, Hazel's mommy, sent us an extra beanie when we requested one of her hats with ears. Ernie loves them! And the beanie made a big impression at my museum's Friday art opening. After Jer and Ern left, many folks asked me if I was the "acorn baby's" mom. I'm sure some folks noticed the artwork too, but Ernie apparently stood out in his hat!

Cousin Kittrick: still smaller than Ernie

Last weekend our visit to Conor and family luckily coincided with Lisa, Toby, and Kittrick's visit. Ernie was very interested in his younger cousin this time, peaking into his carrier as if asking, "who is this guy who thinks he's smaller than everybody else?" Kitt's just three months now, but before we know it these two will be right on the same level.

I can already hear Ernie asking in a car ride to a family event, "Is Kittrick going to be there?"
