I have a hammer!

Ernie got some play-doh in his Easter basket this year and this is a fun activity to keep him busy in the kitchen while his meals are being prepared. Mostly he asks mom or dad to make various vehicles in the dough, but as Mommy was sculpting the window details on a schoolbus yesterday Ernie yelled "I made a hammer!"
And sure as heck, that kid did!

Easter

Egg dying, egg hunting, mostly candy for breakfast, and being spoiled by grandparents. Ernie had a good Easter.
Ernie shows off the pink egg, which he spent the most time bothering while it was in the dye bath.
Daddy teaches Ernie to pepper and eat a hard-boiled egg.
Granparents Mohr got Ernie some small tractors, two John Deeres and a trailer, and one Ford tractor, to enjoy on the holiday.

The Halls got him a noisy bulldozer with three settings (honking a horn, backing up beeps, and dumping dirt). Ernie pushed the button all the way home from Omaha, and towards the end I don't know if he forgot he controlled the noise (and it's ceasing) or he just decided it was fun to plug his ears. Nevertheless, here he is trying to eradicate his head of all noises.

Superhero Day/Grandpa Darrell's birthday

The Lincoln Children's Museum had a Superhero Day on Grandpa Darrell's birthday. We decided that's the perfect way to spend your birthday if you are 62.
Ernie is very familiar with the museum, and knows exactly where all the vehicles he needs to drive are located. It was extremely crowded, and hundreds of heroes (costumed, civil servants, and stormtroopers) were there. Ernie's favorite thing was surely the real fire engine out front, where real firemen discussed all the parts of the vehicle with him as he sat in it. Jeremy's favorite part was surely the stormtrooper invasion. Grandpa's favorite part was probably going home for rest and pie.
