When you aren't getting it, it's all you can think about. Sleep, that is. Ernie's now had about a week to work on recovering from the Austin hotel crib fiasco. He's made big improvements, or so we think until he throws another surprise at us. After a horrible two-hour cry on Saturday night (no, not because the Huskers lost) he slept until his morning feeding. We're trying to retrain ourselves to not respond to every noise so that he can learn to fall asleep on his own, and to only respond to awakenings that require something from us (food, diaper change) and not just requests for company and assistance in falling back asleep. He's now able to sleep on his tummy, too; something he discovered last week. It's been rough, but the reward will be a better-rested baby (and parents).
In case you can't read the title of the book Ern and Daddy are sharing, it's "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child."

That is sooo cute! What a little man, all geared up in Husker Red. Maybe by the time he's old enough to understand football, we'll have a team that can play USC.
That might not happen until I'm old enough to understand football, Jeff.
