After leaving Wisconsin we took the opportunity to visit the northern Halls and Cathie let us stay with her. Their new puppy, Zoe, is the sweetest creature. Right when we got there, I laid Lenora down to change her diaper and Zoe just crawled right onto her tummy and laid down, like "this is a warm squishy place for a teeny puppy to nap."
Cathie and Zoe.

Ashlee and Lenora are besties.

Len was feeling the cranky when Chris and Amy were able to drop by. She tried to be social, but was more of an angry pirate the whole time.

Ernie's belated birthday present, a book of Thomas the Train poems!

Ernie, Zoe, and Snuggle Puppy.

Giving goodbye hugs.

Enjoying some reading material from Cousin Ashlee on the ride home.

We were so good in the car, we got a tow truck!

And we plaid a Big Trucks to Spot card game on the road.

We got home happy and tired, and all in agreement that our vacation was well worth the travel time!

Those were actually good night hugs. It's just confusing because, as you'll notice, it's still light out in those pictures. Our kids are wussy like that.
Zoe was really cute playing with Ernie. She seemed to like him since he was close to her size.
Thank you again, Cathie! It was so nice being able to crash at your place and catch up a bit. We can't wait to see you all again next month.
Donald Duck was one of Grandma Chris's favorites. Ernie will have to share it with me sometime. Thanks Ashlee
