Imagination Station

This morning when we fetched Ernie from the night's rest, he was sitting on his pillow and said "We're riding a cherry picker!" Then he got off and said "We do have to go back to the park. An' the skeleton is there. He's not scary at all! And he did have kool-aid, in the blue cup."
I think he had nice dreams.

Whoa - I'd love to hear a professional interpretation of THAT one! Let's see, he may be feeling too grounded...he'd like to reach new heights. The skeleton...something about structure? The Kool-Aid..."Oh yeah!" Ernie, Ernie, Ernie. :)

Yep, Ernie is now at an age where he actually grasps monsters, ghosts, skeletons, etc. and he has determined that these are all cool, not scary in the least. Though as I was telling Heather over the 4th, "spooky" has taken on a new connotative meaning for Ernie which essentially equals "cool." For example, "That is a garbage truck. It is spooky!"

Amber thinks that this might come back to bite us if he ever learns to be afraid of monsters and such as dangerous things, but we'll see. He's content hunting for them under all of our beds and describing them to us for now.
